Just started my Keto diet under the supervision of my Tampa Florida Doctor Eric Crall, He wanted me to read this book to understand what I could be up against with being overweight and a candidate for Diabetes...Straight forward information about using the Keto Diet and also lots of good information about the foods and drinks and their Caloric charting...I have lost 22 lbs in 3 quick weeks and have improved the Quality of my Life significantly...And I am no where near the finish line Goal of 1oo lbs !!!!!!
I love this book. So far, the best book on Keto I have found. If you are struggling to get your blood sugar under control I say read this book!
I bought this book about a year ago because I wanted to do the Keto diet but wanted to also help my husband because he was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes last summer. I have read a lot about Keto over the past year and this book is the most informative one I’ve read. Recommend it 100% for anyone, even if you aren’t diabetic, who wants to do the Keto diet.
The Ketogenic Diet as prescribed in this book dropped my A1c from 9.8 to 7.9. It does not feel like a diet. I have successfully been following the guidelines outlined in this book for 10 weeks now. The doctor says I am loosing about a pound a week, which is a truly nice perk. I cannot say enough great things about this publication and the authors. The Diabetes Ketogenic Diet is a little different than a regular Ketogenic Diet. This book was a great help. It helped me to learn what is okay for me to eat and what is not okay for me to eat. It has been a bit of a trial and error as far as redesigning my kitchen staples and learning how to cook from a total different perspective. Like bread is not wheat based, but cheese based on keto. I also have learned to thicken gravies and soups with plain jello which is extraordinarily great for collagen while loosing weight! Nothing is ever going to be sugar, but Monkfruit Rocks !! Best wishes for your ketogenic life-changing moments. You are going to be so happy you found and purchased this book!
Good guide for the most part but I WISH there was more for reactive-hypoglycemia. Would really like to know how to be deal with (more specifics), that monster. Just going low-carb/Keto is not going to help me sleep thru the 3am adrenaline wakeup.
